Microforms

The Microforms Center is located on the 4th floor of the Main Library. The Library's microform holdings include an extensive collection of periodical and newspaper backfiles on microfilm, microfiche and CD ROMs, the complete collection of ERIC microfiche and many significant primary source materials and reference resources.

Backfiles of periodicals on microfilm are arranged alphabetically by title in the Center on open stacks in the front room of the Microforms Center. Newspapers on microfilm, which are housed in self-serve cabinets, and the microfiche collections, which are requested at the Microforms Service Desk, are located in the inner room of the Microforms Center.

The Microforms Center has Reader/Printers for viewing and printing both microfilm and microfiche and a workstation/laser printer for the ProQuest full-text periodical articles on CD ROMs. Copy cards are needed to make copies from the microform reader printers and the laser printers at a cost of 15 cents a page. The Health Professions Library and the Social Work Library also have microform reader printers for their microform collections.

Also located in the outer area of the Microforms Center are two photocopy machines and dispensers for the purchase of copy cards.

The Microforms Center closes 15 minutes before the Main Library closes.
